One of the Good Things About The Mission is the Food...

and one of the bad things about The Mission is the food. Food poisoning! Wiped me out, yesterday and today. It's enough to turn me back to vegan. Oh well, too many culinary treasures abound and their aromas awaft.

fbLorna -- ouch, food poisoning, sorry you weren't well.

Thanks much for your comment in my blog. Yesterday I finished, and absolutely love, DRIVE. Will write about it in the blog once I've had some time to get together words to say about it.

Erika Wurth's book Indian Trains came in the mail today, I'm looking forward to time with it for the next few days. I've already read a little of it and really like it so far.

Yup, that's true that I'd never eaten huevos rancheros or corn tortillas before. Isn't culture interesting? So I'm curious, have you ever eaten pickled watermelon rind? My grandma in Iowa made it when I was a kid, home canned it in mason jars. One of my favorites.

Mostly rainy and gray here for a bunch of days, high temps in the 50's, lows in the 40's, typical here for this time of year. Not winter here yet, but soon.

Salud.

P.S., sorry for the "fb" in front of your name, I was trying to type the word verification and I typed the first couple of letters in the wrong place.

Word verification now is "qoohnoz."
